Lusitano Horse Association of Australasia

THE LUSITANO HORSE ASSOCIATION
OF AUSTRALASIA WAS FOUNDED TO PROMOTE ALL ASPECTS OF THE LUSITANO BREED
IN AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND.

Help is available in a number of areas.

  • ADVICE FOR PROSPECTIVE OWNERS ON FINDING A SUITABLE LUSITANO.
  • INFORMATION ON PAPERS AND REGISTRATION AND MEMBERSHIP.
  • LISTS OF BREEDERS INTERNATIONALLY IN PORTUGAL, BRAZIL, U.S.A, AND GREAT BRITAIN.
  • IMPORT RESTRICTIONS AND INTERNATIONAL TRANSPORT.

Although it is not necessary to be a member of the Lusitano Horse Association of Australasia to receive help and information, you are encouraged to become a member if you have an interest in the Lusitano breed.

USE OF IMPORTED SEMEN. It is important for those wishing to breed Lusitano horses in Australia using imported semen that they check with the Association that the proposed sire/dam are registered with LHAA and therefore the resulting foals will be eligible for DNA testing and subsequent registration.
